Setelah keliling sama om Google mencari alternatif pemecahan Speedy Alert agar bisa berjalan di linkungan Windows Vista dan Ubuntu, akhirnya dipeloreh juga alternatif aplikasi Telkom Speedy Alert Community Edition dari website joandilee.com, istilah saya untuk aplikasi ini adalah One Click Ready! Ya, karena dengan klik aplikasinya tanpa instalasi, sudah diperoleh informasi yang diharapkan dari telkomspeedy.net.

Ini pengalaman dan kesempatan yang lumayan menarik, karena ada kesempatan memasang aplikasi-aplikasi di My BlankOn 3.0 memakai koneksi Internet GPRS Gratis dari AXIS sebesar 100 MB / per kartu.
Awalnya koneksi internet memakai speedy, tapi karena kebutuhan yang lumayan besar selama 1 bulan, akhirnya jebol lagi mempertahankan kuota 1 GB dari telkomselspeedy.
Rame-rame ada SMS Santet dan ada iklan GSM Yang Baik dari AXIS, akhirnya coba baca-baca petunjuk di starter kitnya, eh ternyata ada jatah 100 MB free sampai dengan 31/5/2008 (berharap diperpanjang... mode on).
Semangat lagi deh buat berpetualang dengan MyUbuntu Ultimate untuk mengkoneksikan MyW550i ke Internet, dan akhirnya berhasil.... yes...yes...yes!!!
Sambil baca-baca milis [roadshow-linux] di Laptop Acer Aspire 5570 memakai USB Modem W550i, terbersit dihati kecil suatu pertanyaan "Mengapa tidak mencoba memakai BlankOn 3.0 + W550i untuk ber-internet ria?" sekaligus "Mendukung [roadshow-linux]" dan "Mensosialisasikan Hasil Keringat Anak Bangsa agar dibanggakan oleh Bangsa Sendiri?".
Setelah berpikir beberapa saat, akhirnya diputuskan untuk memasang BlankOn 3.0 hasil downloadan dari website negeri ini, dan berharap dapat juga memasang aplikasi-aplikasi layaknya di Ubuntu Ultimate yang berbasis Ubuntu 7.10 Gusty Gibbon.
Setelah melewati masa-masa yang cukup sulit karena diterjang ngantuk dan kuota koneksi speedy dah jebol, akhirnya terpasang juga MyBlankOn 3.0 di Laptop Acer Aspire 5570. Lalu aplikasi-aplikasi server yang biasa dipakai (Apache, MySQL, PHP) bagaimana memasangnya kalo koneksi ke internet dah over-quota?
Berpikir...berpikir...akhirnya memutuskan untuk me-mount CD Ubuntu 8.0 Server Hardy Heron di repository dengan harapan bisa terpasang dengan lancar karena sama-sama memiliki angka sakti 8.0 ;-)
Langkah menambahkan CD Ubuntu 8.0 Server Hardy Heron ke repository adalah :
System ---> Administrasi ---> Synaptic Packet Manager ---> Perangkat Lunak Dari Pihak Ketiga ---> Tambahkan CD-ROM, sehingga hasilnya seperti gambar di bawah ini.
Lalu bagaimana dengan koneksi internetnya memakai W550i + AXIS ??? Ok, dilanjutkan....
Koneksi Internet GPRS dengan GSM Yang Baik (aka AXIS) dan W550i di BlankOn 3.0 harus dipersiapkan beberapa perangkat/aplikasi tambahan, diantaranya :
1. Sistem Operasi Hasil Keringat aka Gubahan Anak Bangsa = BlankOn 3.0
2. Kabel Data HP USB untuk MyW550i (Beli di carefur murah sekali daripada eli di toko HP) ;-)
3. USB Modem memakai HP SE W550i
4. Aplikasi Dial-Up lewat ppp, yaitu GNOME PPP
Settingannya seperti gambar-gambar di bawah ini, dan ini pun posting memakai Koneksi Internet GPRS memakai W550i + AXIS.
Sudah dulu yah... mudah-mudahan bermanfaat....
